It was a steaming summer day, and it was getting a little hot for even Nadim and his desert upbringing. He lay on Gade's floor – the man himself lay sprawled out on his sofa. Both were silent, listening to the insects outside and wishing for a breeze. Gade took an occasional swig from his sweating beer, but other than that, there was no movement. Freedom Gladiator We're so different. Completely opposite. We speak differently – of course his accent being the most obvious sign, but even how we phrase our sentences and choose our words is different. I am blunt, I get to the point quickly, no unnecessary words or pauses. I speak what's on my mind, and clearly. He tends to speak slowly, cryptically, giving little bits of information at a time, as if weaving a riddle for the listener to unravel. What have I done. What am I doing? Crap, I'm too young to leave so soon. I don't want to go. It's okay. It's okay. Rein in the panic, it will do you no good. I wanted this. I still do. Do I? Yes. I do. I want this. Calm. Sit quietly for a moment, that's it. Don't think about anything. Just don't think. It's too late to do anything now. I think I'm okay. I feel... excited. I really did it. The Boy and his Horse

They stand together in the greying light, silent. The rain falls softly, mist rising up from the ground. They are alone. The boy and his horse, one in the same, stand side by side. Hooves clamp on the soft ground, small hands lead them deeper, Farther into the oncoming night. They stop a few miles down, weary from the escape. The boy refuses to ride. They look out into the night, through the trees and the mist. The boy glances at the moon. The horse snorts softly, the boy breathes deeply. They continue on, disappearing into the darkness, leaving swirling mist and silent trees behind.

Long Time No See

I haven't written one of these in a long time. Not much to report. I'm bad at keeping up with these things. No one cares anyway. I go to a high school in Florida, USA now. I wish I were in Canada, but life goes on. Whatever. I'm trying to graduate early, but I'm not sure how that's gonna work out. In any case, the classes are much too easy, no challenge whatsoever. I want to be in university. I started watching Star Trek, the original series. It's pretty good, funny. Spock is my favourite, for obvious reasons. Oh, hi, Bella. In case you read this again. 8P Anyway. I have work to do, so see you later.

It has come to my attention that there are certain people, mainly friends, whom I have neglected to give a proper update to about what has been going on with me in Finland. Well, friends, you're in luck. I have remembered. So here's what's been going on: not much.
